Where there’s a dog, there’s poop. “Everyone Poops”. I read it in a book once. Besides the smell, there are plenty of reasons to clean it up:
1. Both children and other animals are at risk. Coming into contact with waste while playing in the yard and, in a child’s case, not washing their hands often enough, can lead to the spread of some icky stuff! Some can be picked up by humans (like tapeworms), while others are species-specific (canine parvo).
- Giardiasis
- Canine Coronavirus
- Salmonellosis
- E. Coli
- Yersiniosis
- Canine Parvovirus
- Hookworm
- Whipworm
- Roundworm
- Tapeworm
2. It doesn’t just go away just because it disappears. Besides worms and parasites, bacteria thrives in waste left in yards. Contaminants can stay in the soil for years and even affect groundwater.
3. People often add manure to soil as an amendment. Unfortunately, the food dogs eat mean their poop can negatively affect soil! Nothing ruins a beautiful lawn or flower garden quite like doggy doo! Those brown deposits turn can into brown dead spots.
4. The more often it’s cleaned, the easier it is to spend time out in your yard! As the weather improves and we gather friends outside, enjoy the fresh air and stop dodging landmines!
Here’s the good news: we can lend a hand. Quit arguing about who has to do the dirty work or putting it off forever. For the same cost as a burger meal out, we can come do it for you. Set a schedule and forget all about it.
