Poop Scoop FAQ

Using dog poop as fertilizer is not recommended because it can contain harmful bacteria and parasites, unlike the manure from herbivores, which is safer and more commonly used in gardens. Many clients notice that it "burns" or kills their grass where it sat. Pet waste can transmit bacteria and diseases, which then remain in the soil.
It's up to you! Most of our clients prefer 1or 2 cleanings per week. We offer one-time, one monthly, twice monthly, once weekly, and twice weekly.
Yes. Because we do not staff with independent contractors, our employees are fully insured and bonded. They are also covered by worker's compensation insurance.
We'll do our best. Grass should be maintained and leaves or other debris should be removed in order to successfully find poop.
If there is enough snow on the ground to prevent any poop collection, we will typically reschedule for you as soon as possible.
We will often scoop in light or passing rain. For heavier or dangerous weather events, we typically automatically reschedule for you as soon as possible.
One-time and first time cleanings are due in advance of the service. For clients that are on a recurring schedule, invoices are due monthly thereafter.
YES! We can't parkour fences (it'd be funny, though). If you are unable to have the gate unlocked, clients typically find it most convenient to provide a lockbox or combination lock that stays on their property.
If you don't have a gate/fence, we just walk around where you want us to clean! Gates must be unlocked and free of any barriers (aggressive dogs, locks, furniture, etc). If we cannot access the property and no one answers the door, you will be notified and charged for the poop scoop.
We are unable to poop scoop with aggressive dogs in the yard. We notify clients on our arrival and knock on the door. If no one is available to let your dog inside, you will be notified and the poop scoop will be charged as normal.
Life happens. You may pause, cancel, or change poop scoop services and Blue Skies Pet Care only requires 24 hours notice in advance.
Our hours vary by type of service. For poop scooping, our hours are typically 8:30 am - 5:30pm during daylight hours.
We accept debit, credit, and ACH online. We also accept physical checks mailed or dropped to our office.
Yes. If you're not happy, please message us within 24 hours of your cleaning and we'll happily come re-scoop poop for FREE.
You can view your schedule online. Blue Skies Pet Care can also send poop scoop notifications when we're on our way, knock on arrival, and send a notification when the poop scoop cleaning is completed.
Your dog should be current on relevant vaccinations, specifically rabies and make vaccination records available for review in the event of a dog bite of any Blue Skies Pet Care employee.
For clients setting up weekly or twice weekly cleanings for the very first time, we typically waive any initial cleaning fees as a courtesy! If you are restarting services or requesting less frequent poop scoops: If it's been a while since the yard was last cleaned and there's a treasure trove of poop to scoop, an initial dog waste cleanup fee may apply. We typically simply charge like a one-time poop scoop. We will let you know before we come for service!
